'My neighbor hang himself on the apple tree in blossom, spring time was always his favorite season...' This excerpt from the song 'Apple Tree' gives you an idea, of what to expect (lyric-wise) from this new BLACK RAIN discovery, that already had a first album out ('Near Life Experience') on a tiny American label. 'If there's a god, then we have to deal with this unprofessional one…' This quote is where the name for this project is coming from. The album "Around the Corners of Our Minds" is waving and balancing between industrial, ambient and pop, and talks about obsessions, the not understanding of our own selves and hidden mental anomalies in every single one of us. Musically speaking, AMATEUR GOD play outstanding Dark-Electro with a touch of Björk, Nine Inch Nails or The Cranes. Unusual sounds and song-structures and a unique female singer come together to form an extraordinary symbiosis. On six tracks you can hear the vocals of female singer Spela, which first perfectly with the electronics on this album! A quite special track makes 'White Kites/Black Sky', a track that lasts for more than 10 minutes and that features wonderful vocals and violins by another gifted female: Helena...
The album is rounded off by a demanding videoclip for the PC of the track 'Openminded'
