Details:
Eliwagar hails from an old farm laying in the Norwegian mountains in Hardanger area. The project has been formed by Runahild Kvitbjarkan Njartharsdottir in 2007 and she has been the only musician and lyrics writer until the year 2010 when Bjørn "Nord" Dahl joined as session guitarist. Eliwagar is "Norse Romantic Folk Music" and hails to the Norse folk, heritage and land from a time much older than the Viking time. Melodies and poetry are from a time when the Norse lived in peace in the northern land, in harmony with the laws of universe and nature and strongly bound to their heritage and nature lore which shined over their society and gave them their spirituality and values.
Living together between ice and fire, under the mighty branches of the oak - Jørmunrsul - which roots interwine with the mysteries from the dark realm of mother earth Njarthar, and branches with the strength of the eternal father sky Tyr. Life through the seasons in a farm surrounded by the ancient spirits of nature and the wise ancestors, from the glorious light of dawn to the fire burning sky of the twilight fall, from the starry winter nights covering the land with frost, ice and snow to the golden summer days caressing the earth with a blessed sunwheel embrace: this is the true hyperborean spirit echoing from the heart of the northern nature that whispers through Eliwagar's music and poetry...
Released mid-May, 2012.
