After their highly acclaimed debut 'Square Moon', Belgian electronic cold wave band DER KLINKE deliver an upgraded quality on their second album, containing 10 hypnotic songs which again will very well please every fan of unusual dark electronic music. Compared to today's 'trendy EBM and dark wave styles', their noncommercial but rich sound demonstrates their capability to create a sound that is more than ever the musical countermovement to almost every cliché having evolved from the once unique electronic and dark-cold-wave styles during the past 30 years. The cooperation with Martin Bowes (Attrition), who contributes to the song "The Game", indicates their own claim to create songs rich in content and depth. Musically speaking the new album adds some more epic styles, which find their climax in the powerful title track. Dark ambient and guitar-oriented acoustic songs as well as heavy keyboard driven songs define all together the variable and always unique style of this album. "The Second Sun" is not a "one-hit-wonder club album", it is a collection of songs the listener gets more and more sucked into with each and every listening!
